Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, issued a resolution to form the new Board of Directors, which will oversee the Police Sports Federation until 2016. The new Board will be chaired by Advisor Abdullah Bin Nosra Al Ameri, with Major General Mohammed Saeed Al Marri from the Dubai Police GHQ serving as vice chairman. Membership of the Board will include Brigadier Saleh Saeed Al Matrooshi, from the General Administration of Civil Defense; Brigadier General Abdul Malik Mohammed Abdul Rahim Jani, Director of the Police Sports Federation; Brigadier General Ghanem Ahmed Ghanem Al Ali, from the Ras Al Khaimah Police GHQ; Colonel Adel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, from the Ministry of Interior; Colonel Mohammed Humaid Al Daheri, from Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; Colonel Ahmed Hamdan Al Zayoudi, from the Fujairah Police GHQ; Lt. Colonel Ali Humaid Rashid, from the Ajman Police GHQ; Lt. Colonel Adnan Jassim Rashid, from the Umm Al Quwain GHQ; Lt. Colonel Abdullah Ali Sultan, from the Naturalization, Residency and Ports; Major General Ibrahim Hassan Al Zaabi, from the Special Security Forces GHQ; Major Isa Mir Abdul Rahman, from the Sharjah Police GHQ; and expert Dr. Hussein Omar Al Semmary, from the Police Sports Federation, rapporteur of the Council.

The Council kicked off its first meeting for 2013 at its Abu Dhabi headquarters, by expressing thanks and appreciation to His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, for his trust. The Council members expressed their hope to meet His Highness’s expectations, emphasizing their keenness to exert every possible effort to promote and advance the police sports sector.

The Council valued the significant role played by Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, and the support of the Ministry of Interior’s assistant undersecretaries. It also commended the positive role played by all team leaders to prepare the teams representing the various police GHQs; thus granting the Federation a great opportunity to enhance and develop sports in the police sector, and achieve the coveted goals. Moreover, the Council praised the positive cooperation from all national federations, the Olympic Committee and the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare; pledging commitment to pursue further development.

The Council’s chairman welcomed the newly appointed members, wishing them the best of success in their tasks, to promote and develop sports in the police sector.

Furthermore, the Council’s chairman thanked the former council members for their efforts and work, which contributed to significantly develop police sports activities during their 2008/2012 tenure.

After reviewing the various sports topics on the agenda, it was decided to appoint Brigadier Malik Mohammed Abdul Rahim Jani, Secretary General of the Federation. Brigadier Jani agreed to form a committee for resource development headed by Major General Mohammed Saeed Al Marri, Vice Chairman of the Federation; and the membership of Colonel Mohammed Humaid Al Daheri; Colonel Ahmed Hamdan Al Zayoudi; Lt. Colonel Abdullah Ali Sultan; and Major Isa Mir Abdul Rahman. Furthermore, it was decided to form a technical committee for the Federation, headed by Brigadier Malik Mohammed Abdul Rahim Jani, and with the membership of Brigadier General Ghanem Ahmed Ghanem Al Ali; Colonel Ali Humaid Al Museibi; Lt. Colonel Arif Ali Obaid Al Rayes; Lt. Colonel Adnan Jassim Bu Ossaiba; Major Ibrahim Al Zaabi; and expert Dr. Hussein Omar Al Semmary.
