HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed the importance of work development efforts in order to implement MoI strategy.
We have to adopt a modern management approach in line with the Federal Government vision. HH has made this statement during a visit to the workshop concerning the overall strategic development project of the MoI 2010 – 2015, held at Intercontinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi, yesterday.
We have come a long way in replacing the old routine work culture, with innovation, productivity and creativity culture, to promote security and policing system, and to keep pace with development trends. HH has referred to the role of the Correctional and Punitive Establishments in rehabilitating inmates. WE should adopt transparency when dealing with information, whether they are positive or negative, to enable leaders and senior officials to take proper decisions.
The workshop which was held under the theme “Mission, Strategic Goals and Measures of Correctional and Punitive Establishments Strategic Outcomes” was attended by Major General Nasser Salim La Khreibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of HH’s Office, Brigadier Yusuf Abdul Kareem Al Ahmed, Director of Correctional and Punitive Department at ADP, Colonel Ali Jumaa Al Shamsi Deputy Director General of Correctional and Punitive Establishment at MoI, and Directors of Correctional and Punitive Establishments in UAE. Al Nuaimi has urged those present to exert themselves, and to present proposals and ideas contributing to the development of mission and vision.
Colonel Mohammad Saif Al Zaabi, Deputy Director of Correctional and Punitive Establishment at ADP, has stressed the importance of cooperation with other institutions and media to spread awareness programmes and campaigns in order to reduce crime and prisoners numbers.
Lt. Colonel Aziz Humood Al Amri, Director of Strategy for Ministry’s Affairs and Lt. Colonel Fayssal Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at ADP GHQ presented a detailed explanation of the overall strategic development project of the MoI, and the present state of the Correctional and Punitive Establishments and matching their strategic objectives with MoI strategic objectives. The workshop included practical exercises.
