The Quality Department,  at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development, the General Secretariat of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, organized a workshop under the theme: “Conformity  of Operational Procedures in the ISO 9001: 2008 Manual with Administrative Processes”. The workshop was held at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi.

The workshop was inaugurated by Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Saeed Matar Al Seraidi, Head of Quality Department, and Manager of the Administrative Processes Development Project. Colonel Al Seraidi emphasized the importance of development systems integration between all the Ministry of Interior’s Departments.

Furthermore, he stressed the need to further implement the ISO standards in integration with administrative processes adopted at various levels; to measure them accurately and impartially. Moreover, he underscored the need to work as one team for continuous improvement and development in order to achieve the coveted goals.

Then, Major Nasr Khalifa Al Falasi, Chief  of the Administrative Operations Section touched on the workshop topics. He explained the process of conforming the ISO 9001: 2008 Manual procedures with the management processes list, corroborating his explanation with an example (from daily police work). Major Al Falasi also briefed the audience on the mechanism used to document and define the administrative processes using the “Ms Visio” program, and to identify the processes performance standards, which will improve operational performance. Furthermore, he noted that the workshop will be followed by field visits to check the outputs of the conformity process.

It is noteworthy that the workshop was attended by a number of officers and non-commissioned officers, as well as quality teams from the various departments of the Ministry of Interior.
