Under the auspices of Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minster and Minster of Interior, the Ministry of Interior’s Centers Department for Rehabilitation and Recruitment of the Disabled will hold the second collective wedding for the disabled persons on Tuesday at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi. 

Weddings of 20 disabled men will be held, said Nasser bin Aziz Al Shareefi, director of the Department, highlighting the keenness of the ministry of interior to sponsor and rehabilitate this category of people as well as to expedite their integration into the society.

Collective weddings organized under the support of the leadership send a noble message to the members of the society and highlights the duties and rights of those with disabilities whose role in the development is not less important than others, he added.

As part of its training plans, the Department provides all those with disabilities across the emirates with high level five-month intensive training programs in various areas including, secretary, computer maintenance, software design, and telephone operators, he pointed out.

 So far, as many as 450 disabled persons have been trained and around 430 of them have been recruited, said Al Shareefi who indicated that transportation and accommodation have been provided for the trainees.

The Department is keen to provide disabled persons with jobs that fit their qualifications and that are nearest to their places of residence, he further affirmed.
