The “Friends of the Police” summer program was launched in the Abu Dhabi Police Officers’ Club, with the participation of 185 male and female students from the officers’ children, aged between 7 and 17 years. The program is scheduled to run till the fourth of July.
Colonel Saif Saeed Al Shamsi, Head of the Cultural and Social activities at the Police Officers’ Clubs Department of Abu Dhabi Police, indicated that the Clubs department provides a number of various entertaining summer activities for the officers’ children during this vacation.
He also noted that the activities include water games; competitions for boys within the Police Officers’ Club; a visit to the splash park at Khalifa Park; as well as training sessions for girls at the International Cooking Training Center through the “Young Chef Training Course”. Moreover, the department organizes a fun-filled trip for boys and girls to the “Modhesh World”. The program will be concluded with a graduation ceremony to honor the officers’ children.
“The activities organized by the Clubs department allow students to benefit and get acquainted with the police entities where their fathers work, and get an overview of their fathers’ work nature in serving and protecting the society. Additionally, children will enjoy entertaining atmospheres through the visits organized by the department,” he added.
It is noteworthy that the program concludes a series of various activities carried out by the Clubs department for officers’ children throughout the academic year, and during each school vacation. For this end, the department is keen on diversity, with respect to the types of programs and their objectives for the benefit of the youth.
