The Abu Dhabi Police’s Traffic and Patrols Directorate organized six awareness traffic lectures from which as many as 670 students of the Emirates National School have benefited.

The lectures are part of the traffic campaign “traffic light jumpers, beware!” that has been recently launched by the Ministry of Interior.

The school children received theoretical and practical programs on many traffic-related issues including the risks of jumping traffic light, and ways of crossing the intersections that have traffic signals, and risks of crossing while traffic light has not changed into the red.

To create interaction among school children, illustrative models have been used to send the awareness messages to them. In addition, the lectures have also focused on the correct methods to be followed when school children get on and off the school buses.

They have been briefed on the traffic accidents especially those involving them. They have been trained on safe methods to cross and use bridges and underpasses and cross roads from the designated areas to avoid being hit by cars.
