A delegation from the Security Inspection Department (k9) at the Security and Ports Affairs Department of Abu Dhabi Police reviewed cooperation with the German University of Munich in the field of science and training.

The head of the delegation, Major Said al-Kathiri, Chief of Veterinary Services at the Directorate noted that the participants discussed the possibility of qualifying citizens in the field of veterinary medicine; and the related technical field to work as assistant veterinarians at the Security Inspection Department.

He added: “They also agreed to organize training courses at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in the University of Munich, to cooperate in the field of research and studies related to dogs, as well as to organize conferences and seminars in veterinary medicine, and canine health care”, pointing out that this cooperation will be under the supervision of professors and experts from the University of Munich.

Moreover, Major al-Kathiri stated that the delegation met the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University, who explained the various stages of establishment of the Faculty, its development progress, the nature of work of its various departments and the role of the university in training students and new graduates from Germany and other countries. The delegation also visited the specialized clinics and was briefed on the equipments and methods used.

“We also got acquainted with the work of the artificial insemination and dog breeding unit; then visited the Central Laboratory of the University and the pets feeding unit”, concluded the Chief of Veterinary Services Directorate.
