The Western Region’s Traffic and Patrols Section at Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate organized a traffic awareness booth at “Maarifa 2014” Exhibition. This exhibition was organized by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd (GASCO) at Madinat Zayed City in the Western Region, as per the traffic safety strategy and social communication methodology.
“This traffic exhibition falls under the traffic education plan for 2014 to enrich the traffic cultural knowledge among society segments in the Western Region in general, and school, colleges and university students in particular,” said Major Mohammed Saif Al Khaili, Acting Chief of the Section. He added that taking part in the exhibition comes in line with the traffic safety strategy and social communication methodology to enhance traffic safety.
For his part, Captain Abdul Rahman Al Ali, Public Relations Branch Manager in the Western Region, affiliated to the Public Relations Section said: “The traffic exhibition featured a number of educational traffic signs designed to enhance awareness of road users to prevent traffic accidents, and educate drivers on the need to give priority to pedestrians crossing the road. It also provided tips and guidance on the methods to deal with traffic accidents when they occur and tools used to save lives. Traffic-themed gifts and traffic guideline brochures were also distributed at the exhibition.” The exhibition witnessed a significant turnout of visitors, including Emirati veteran national football team player, Subait Khater, who expressed admiration for the traffic education booth.
