The Special Tasks Department at Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the graduation of 16 officers after completing a course on sports stadiums security. The two-week course was organized in collaboration with the French police.

Colonel Rashid Suhail Al Ali, Director of the Special Tasks Department, indicated that the course included practical training and applications on the best means to secure stadiums, escort referees, players and fans, from the main assembly sites and other locations to the sports stadiums.

He added that the course was organized by best in class and highly skilled experts. “It addressed a number of security-related issues to secure stadiums, players and the public, pursuant to the government's vision, which seeks to ensure that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi remains a society that enjoys security and safety, by providing high quality police services to the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors alike,” he continued.

At the end of the ceremony, Faisal Ali Al Kathiri, Head of the Training section at the Special Tasks Department distributed certificates to the graduates and top achievers. He praised their diligent interaction with the various topics addressed by the course, and ensured its success. Concluding, he called on the graduates to apply the knowledge they acquired at the course in their work, as part of their commitment to ensure community’s security and safety.
