The Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing search and rescue aircraft managed to locate and rescue two Korean tourists who were stranded in the Western Region.
In detail, the Operations Rooms received a notification around 10:45 pm on Tuesday, reporting two missing individuals in the Mezairaa sandy area in the Western Region. The search and rescue aircraft immediately took off, led by Lt. Colonel Pilot Saeed Salem Al Marar, Head of the Air Operations Section, who is highly experienced in dealing with such circumstances. Lt. Colonel Al Marar established the correct coordinates, and managed to locate the missing couple stranded in the sand in just 15 minutes.
The aircraft medical team examined the two tourists; a 33-year old Korean man and his 40-year old wife. After making sure they were in a good condition, the couple was directed to the correct road.
The two Koreans expressed their delight to be found by the search and rescue aircraft, and extended their thanks and appreciation to both, the Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing section and the aircraft crew.
