Nine players from Female Police personnel from the police schools of the General Department of Human Resources at the Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters completed an advanced course in taekwondo and self defense. During the course, which spanned over one year and four months, and was concluded during this month, the trainees went through the various phases to acquire the black belt.
On the final day, the trainees were tested before a committee formed by the UAE Taekwondo and Karate Federation. The examination was attended by General Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Marzouqi, President of the UAE Taekwondo and Karate Association, a number of officers and non-commissioned officers, in addition to representatives from various taekwondo clubs in the country. The team achieved first place in 3 UAE open tournaments.
It is noteworthy that this phase of qualification for the players by acquiring the black belt is the first experience in the region. It will be followed in the near future by similar competitions, to qualify new female members from the various departments of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.
