The activities for the Friends of the Police Program will kick off next Sunday for the children of the staff of the Ministry of Interior, the Abu Dhabi Police and the retired staff in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The activities, which are organized by the Cultural and Social Activity Section of the Clubs Department, will be held during the midterm break.

Children ages 7 to 14 are expected to participate in the program’s activities that will be held through 6 January in Abu Dhabi, and through the end of January in Al Ain. The program aims to invest in the student’s leisure time via a myriad of physical, social, sporting, and recreational activities.

Colonel Said Saeed Al Shamesi, Chief of the Cultural and Social Activity Section of the Clubs Department stressed the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Police to occupy the children during the school breaks by providing them with the skills and expertise to develop their mental and physical abilities. This aims to build their character and introduce them to the nature of their parents’ work in serving and protecting the society, alongside encouraging them to create and innovate.

He said that the program will include sporting games and competitions, self-defense programs, memorizing the Holy Qur’an, and field trips; as well as a number of events, activities, programs and field trips. He pointed out that all facilities are prepared to welcome the children, provide the proper services and to protect their safety. The scope of participation has also been expanded to include the daughters of the staff members in order to allow them the opportunity to benefit from the activities of these programs and events, with rewards being prepared for those who excel in every activity and event.
