The Central Operations Directorate General recently launched the Director General of Central Operations’ contest for best creative practices across the various departments and sections affiliated with the directorate, which contribute to developing institutional work.
Major Issa Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Chief of the Strategic Planning Section at the Central Operations Directorate General stressed the need to boost efficiency and productivity by enhancing creative potentials; and encouraging staff members provide the best services according to international best practices. He indicated that the contest comes in line with the approach to encourage creative experiences, adopt staff members’ innovative and creative ideas, and turn them into functional applications; in the quest to promote forward thinking and better manage innovation.
“The contest is a part of the Directorate General’s plan to encourage and promote creativity and innovation in order to provide practical models that reflect an added value to the work system; with a view to encourage successful administrative experiences and spread knowledge and empowerment,” he said.
For his part, Lieutenant Abdulla Saeed Al Kaabi, submitter of the creative idea, noted that the application requirements for the contest include filling out the contest’s e-application on the department’s website. He said: “Participation shall be submitted on behalf of a concerned organizational unit; no personal participations are allowed. The innovative practice must already be implemented at the organizational units within the directorate general in 2014 and 2015 and is accompanied with verifiable related results. The deadline for submitting applications is November30th 2015; the winners of the contest will be announced on December 15th, 2015.”
It is worth mentioning that the Central Operations Directorate General has allocated awards, shields, and certificates of appreciation to the winners and work teams.
