The Abu Dhabi Police will be opening a counter for issuing criminal clearance certificates, also known as certificates of good conduct at the 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, (ADIHEX 2015), to make it easy for citizens who wish to purchase and license weapons. The event, which is organized by the Emirates Falconers' Club (EFC), will be hosted by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) from 9th to 12th September.
Captain Expert Ismail Abdullah Al Karbi, Chief of the Fingerprint Section in the Abu Dhabi Police Forensic Evidence Department, said: “The issuance of the ‘Certificate of Good Conduct’ is part of the procedures required for buying and licensing guns and other hunting weapons”. He added that the counter will commence work as of opening day and will continue throughout the four-day exhibition.
Adding further, Captain Al Karbi explained that the counter will be operated by competent staff members to issue the certificates on-site. It will be networked with the Criminal Records system, to issue certificates of good conduct to citizens without criminal records promptly, by just presenting the Emirates ID Card.
Captain Al Karbi called upon individuals wishing to obtain a criminal clearance certificate to benefit from the privileges provided by the Ministry of Interior’s application “UAE-MOI” via smart phones and the Ministry’s website via www.moi.gov.ae. In conclusion, he noted that buyers can apply online upon downloading the application during the exhibition. At the counter, the employee will then continue steps of issuing the certificate after comparing the fingerprints across civil and criminal systems and the database of the Emirates Identity Authority. The mechanism for criminal clearance certificates issuance is also available at the Abu Dhabi Police Forensic Evidence Department for all types of certificates issued on the countrywide level.
