Traffic departments electronically linked
Motorists can now pay traffic fines and get other traffic related documents transacted at any traffic departments in the country regardless of the license issuing emirate. In this respect a pilot project connecting all traffic departments was launched yesterday
The director of traffic and licensing department in Abu Dhabi, Colonel Gaith Hassan al Zaabi, said that the system is being introduced under the directives from His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed al Nahyan, the Minister of Interior for unifying the traffic departments and the procedures through a unified database.
The system is put to operation on a trial basis and continues to be under observation regarding its performance and accuracy. The system is an important step taken by the ministry of interior towards easing the procedures for various transactions with minimum effort and in the least possible time .it is also the ministries endeavor to implement the e-government system, he said.
