Strict action to follow after the end of enhanced amnesty period for illegals.
A total of 341,958 people those were residing in the country illegally have benefited out of the recently ended amnesty.
The Minister of Interior His Highness Lt.Gen.Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the amnesty was in accordance with the cabinet decision to end the phenomenon an of illegal workers and the government strategy to provide better amenities and living conditions to the nationals and legally residing expatriates.
Sheikh Saif stressed that his ministry will take all the measures needed to curb this menace in the future and a draft to implement stringent measures is underway. Colonel Naser Al Awadi Al Minhali of the Naturalization department warned those people and companies sheltering or employing the illegal workers from facing hefty punishments.
