Sheikh Saif launches National security campaign

His Highness Lt.Gen.Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Interior has called upon the Police to mobilize their energies and resources for identifying the causes of crime instead of only focusing attention on handling crimes and criminals.
Lt.Gen.Sheikh Saif made the statement on the eve of the launch of the national security awareness campaign. The campaign is being organized by the Ministry of Interior under the auspices of Lt.Gen.Sheikh Saif for the third year running, and the theme of this year’s campaign is stable family secure society.
The week long campaign will begin with popular processions in which number of officials from the ministry and other local government departments will participate. Lt.Gen.Sheikh Saif said that prevention is better than cure; concentration of the family stability has to be given attention as it is directly linked with the security of the society, he noted.
The Minister said that the national campaign for security awareness aims at addressing the various aspects of the family instability. Major General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary to the Ministry of Interior said that there are several factors which play an active role in making the communities more stable and secure. Major General Khalefa Hareb Al Khaili, assistant undersecretary of the planning and management affairs said that the national campaign looks forward to consolidating security awareness among various communities and segments of the society.
The campaign includes road race, competitions, exhibitions, cultural programs, symposiums, special programs for school children and mass media campaigns besides surveys and interviews.
