The Leadership Development Center at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior, announced a series of development programs and courses for the upcoming year. The programs aim to qualify   and prepare promising and distinguished staff members, according to the institutional excellence standards and innovative approach.

Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Omar Ibrahim Al Ali, Director of the Leadership Development Center, noted that the remarkable programs were prepared to encourage further efforts in the quest to achieve the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior and are in response to the directives of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

He also noted that the programs have been prepared based on the international standards of occupational excellence. They focus on developing leadership abilities and skills, according to scientific and innovative practical foundations that would contribute to achieving the Ministry of Interior’s strategic approach to nurture human resources and future leaders.

Adding further, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Al Ali said that the series of training courses include development programs, notably, the ‘Distinguished Competencies’, ‘Second Level Leaders’, ‘Senior Leaders’ and ‘Qualifying Police Operations’ Leaders’. The programs also include courses such as ‘Investing in Human Resources Development’; the ‘Developing Distinguished Competencies at the Civil Defense Directorate General in Abu Dhabi’; and ‘Preparing Experts for Abu Dhabi Police’.

Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Al Ali reiterated the commitment of the Ministry of Interior to provide all of the necessary resources and requirements to encourage employees to achieve excellence. He also called upon MoI staff members to double the efforts and prepare to enroll in the programs that are designed to refine and enhance leadership skills and abilities, to keep pace with the comprehensive development witnessed by the UAE in all areas of innovation and creativity.

In conclusion, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Al Ali noted that the programs are carried out at the Leadership Development Center in collaboration with prestigious global universities and educational institutes such as Oxford and Cambridge Universities in the UK; the Civil Service College in Singapore and the Harvard University in the USA.  “The Leadership Development Center strives to achieve the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior, implement institutional excellence standards and nurture and develop staff members in an exceptional way, as well as individuals with outstanding creative skills. As a part of its goals, the center also strives to create an innovative, competitive and forward-looking environment conducive to progress and innovation, keeping abreast of the distinguished updates, which promote leadership, boost services develop exceptional leaders and maintain gains of the Ministry of Interior,” he concluded.
