Workshop and Crime
Scene at the faculty of Law in UAE University

The Department of Crime Scene, Directorate General of Security Affairs and Ports at Abu Dhabi Police, has recently organized a workshop at the Women Faculty of Law, Emirates University. This is part of ADP cooperation with academic and educational institutions and organizations, to acquaint them with the police tasks and duties.

Colonel (Dr.) Saif Bu Dhafeera Al Amri, Director General of Security Affairs and Ports has received a certificate of appreciation from the faculty of Law, delivered to him by Major salim Khalifa Al Darei, Director Crime Scene Department.

According to Major Al Darei, the Department has set up on the side lines of the workshop a model of crime scene including a corpse and advanced equipment in use by crime scene investigators. Four of the Department staff, two of them are women, prepared a full scenario of a crime, from the lodging of the report up to the entry of the crime scene and its investigation procedures.

Such practical demonstrations will assist the Law students as they are qualified to work as prosecutors in the future. It is very important for them to be aware of these procedures.

Dr. Jasim Ali Al Shamsi, Dean of the Law Faculty lauded ADP interest in communication with academic institutions and organizations, and its keenness to activate a fruitful cooperation with these sectors. ADP has exceeded the traditional policing concept to a modern organization that delivers humanitarian, social and scientific services.
