The United Arab Emirates, represented by the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, participated in the 4th meeting of the GCC Security Media Committee, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting discussed uniting efforts of GCC security media authorities towards reinforcing security and stability in the region.
Head of the meeting, Colonel Nasser bin Saud Al Ajmi welcomed the participating delegations in his speech, in which he hailed efforts of the Bahraini Ministry of Interior in organizing the event and praised the hospitality and good reception that the delegations enjoyed.
He pointed out that this meeting comes in line with the directives of GCC Interior Ministers, within the framework of activating security cooperation to face current challenges. He also hailed cooperation between GCC police media authorities in exchanging security media information, hoping that the meeting will fulfill its objectives.
Lt. Col. Saeed Al Khaja, Deputy Director of Tactical Affairs and Security Media at the Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and head of the UAE delegation, confirmed in a statement that the UAE, represented by the Ministry of Interior, is keen to fulfill our leadership’s directives to collaborate and consult with its sisters countries at the GCC in the various relevant fields, and to enhance and enforce the joint action.
He said: “Oriented media represents a key pillar to support and develop the sense of security and prevention in our society. The police role is no longer limited to fighting crime, but rather to prevent crimes from happening. This will be achieved through cooperation of all community members and working on gaining their trust as partners in sustaining security and stability in a positive manner.”
Lt. Col. Al Khaja commended the GCC joint work represented in holding such fraternal meetings that contribute in exchanging and developing expertise and lead to achieve the mutual goals.
Head of Bahrain's Delegation, Lt-Col Musa Al Dosary delivered a speech, in which he conveyed Bahrain's condolence on the death of Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, May he rest in eternal peace, wishing solace and comfort for the Saudi people in particular, and the Gulf people in general. He also conveyed the best wishes of Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and his wishes to the participating delegations to achieve success and bring the best for the GCC people’s interest.
In his speech, Lt-Col Al Dosary said that the current situation is filled with challenges that need a joint efforts and more collaboration for a united GCC security media mission, especially that there are many similarities that unite the Gulf societies who share similar security situations and problems. He affirmed that this meeting is considered as an additional link to the joint GCC work, adding: "Our joint destiny and challenges force us to develop security media mechanisms to meet the needs of citizens and the higher interest of our nations.”
Lt-Col Al Dosary explained that security media with its various tools should achieve maximum benefits from modern technology and social media means to enhance community partnership that contribute in achieving the police media mission in fast and accurate ways.
