The National ID card must for MoI transactions from 22 November 2009
The Ministry of Interior has stipulated that possession of the national ID card is obligatory for any services provided by MoI and all its security organizations and police departments to UAE nationals from the emirates with effect from 22nd of current month, execpt other residents of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, till notified separately.
A statement issued by MoI has urged those who do not possess the national ID should apply for the National ID card as soon as possible, in accordance with the Federal Law No. (9) Of 2006 regarding the Population Register and ID card System.
According to MoI Statement all Security Organizations and Police Departments in the country have been directed to link all the transactions by these organizations and departments with the National ID.
