Saif bin Zayed launches the initiative “Hope Plant” for disabled="disabled" people
HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has affirmed that disability cannot stand on the way of giving and creativity where there is a will and true intensions to work and produce.
HH launched on Monday the initiative of "Hope Plant" for persons with special needs. HH and a number of disabled="disabled" persons from Abu Dhabi Center for Rehabilitation and Qualification of disabled="disabled" Persons planted a "Giving Date Palm" at ADP GHQ building. HH said on the occasion "WE follow the wise words of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE (God bless him) during the celebrations of the 38th National Day. HH Sheikh Khalifa called for unlimited support to the efforts of reviving original Emirati practices, on top of which the enhancement of social solidarity, coherence and community partnership".
HH Sheikh Saif affirmed the importance of developing the ability to plant. It symbolizes productivity, coherence and interest in the future of coming generations. "Plantation is the foundation of growth and represents gratitude and loyalty", added HH.
"It is great to see some people who have been deprived from some physical or mental abilities but still they can innovate and do what many others can not do. Even some of them support other healthy people due to their strong will and determination, and the support provided by the country Leadership", said HH.
The initiative includes several activities and services which MoI works on achieving them. These include, "Police Friends" Programme "Soon will be launched", supporting disabled="disabled" people by allowing them to attend all recreational and cultural events, organizing special poll for them to know more about their needs and suggestions, in addition to other activities and services.
Widad Hamad Mubarak, Head of Activities Department at Abu Dhabi Center for disabled="disabled" Persons Rehabilitation and qualification, said "This initiative is not strange for the sons of the master of goodness and giving, the late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May his soul rest in peace). The Center spares no effort to help these children to integrate into their society. ADP is the most supporting organization of this category of people".
Some children participated in the plant of the date palm. They were kaltham Mohammad, Abdul Rahman Nasser, Saif Nasser and Muneera Ahmed and a number of supervisors.
Nasser Ali bin Aziz Al Shareefi, Director of MoI Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of disabled="disabled" Persons said "This civilized initiative and humanitarian gesture from HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior "Hope Plant" represents the continuous care that HH pays to the disabled="disabled" persons. It confirms the attention that our Leadership pays to the persons with special needs. Our Leadership continues its support to disabled="disabled" persons on all occasions and events ".
MoI Centers received a number of disabled="disabled" persons from Lebanon and Palestine for training and in MoI training and qualification centers.
HH has launched recently the programme of "Iradda" (Will and Determination)
