ADP Forensic Laboratories go global
Saif bin Zayed directs that three national dentists to be send to Britain to study Forensic Odontology
HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has directed that three national dentists from ADP Medical Services to be sent to UK to study Forensic Odontology.
This step is in accordance with the proposed training plan of the current year. Professor Geoff Craig, one of the senior Forensic Odontology Experts at the University of Sheffield in UK will supervise the studies of the above national dentists.
Major General Nasser La Khraibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of HH’s Office has stated that this gesture from HH will promote and enhance the techniques of crime detection through scientific ways and methods. All the successes achieved by the Department of Criminal Evidence, including “ISO 17025 – 2005” and International Recognition for Internal Audit “Alyocas”, are due to HH’s support and modernization strategy.
The British Expert Professor Geoff Craig met on Tuesday with the concerned officers and experts in the Scene of the Crime Section. Their workshop discussed the importance of Dental Identification System in case of disasters and fires. Professor Craig repeated the need for a specialized and cooperative team in ADP to deal successfully with emergencies in coordination with crime scene experts, in order to detect crimes through advanced techniques.
It is worth mentioning that Forensic Odontology (Dental Identification System) is one of the most important methods on which investigators rely in disasters especially big fires, as dentition relatively indestructible. It assists in identifying the dead and survivors in rape and murder crimes and disasters.
