Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior attended the second collective wedding of those with disabilities, organized by the Ministry of Interior’s Centers Department for Rehabilitation and Recruitment of Disabled at the Police Offices Club in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Saif praised the efforts of the organizers and supporters of this wedding which he considered a model for cohesion with this category which deserve all support and appreciation.

Present at the event were Lit. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Nasser Salim Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, undersecretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Major General Sheikh Talib bin Saqer Al Qassimi, Deputy Commander of Ras Al Khaimah Police, a number of senior police officers, representatives of the sponsoring agencies and relatives of the grooms.

Weddings of 20 disabled men have been held during the event, pointed out Nasser bin Aziz Al Shareefi, director of the Ministry of Interior’s Centers Department for Rehabilitation and Recruitment of the Disabled, highlighting the keenness of the ministry of interior to sponsor and rehabilitate this category of people as well as to expedite their integration into the society.

He noted that the collective weddings organized under the support of the leadership send a noble message to the members of the society and highlights the duties and rights of those with disabilities whose role in the development is not less important than others.

As part of its training plans, the Department provides all those with disabilities across the emirates with high level five-month intensive training programs in various areas including, secretary, computer maintenance, software design, and telephone operators, he pointed out.

The grooms have expressed their thanks and appreciation for the Ministry of Interior which opened wide horizons for them to get integrated into the society. “The Department helped us develop our skills, provided job opportunities for us and enabled us to build our lives independently”. 
  
At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Saif presented gifts to the grooms and honored sponsors and supporters of the collective wedding. He also took group photo with them marking the occasion.
