Saif bin Zayed inaugurates GCC consultative meeting
Saif bin Zayed: new challenges impose on us more communication to achieve aspirations
H.H welcomed the delegates to their second country and conveyed the regards of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE on the occasion of this important meeting notably during these delicate circumstances which several countries of the region are witnessing.
He said that the agenda includes many issues which concern us all governments and people, on top of which is enhancing joint cooperation and coordination.
“In this place”, he said, “I have nothing to mention but valuable quotes of His Highness the UAE President when he affirmed that the security of the gulf is the security of the entire world, and that any threat to one of its states, is verily threat to the entire region”.
He expressed his confidence that the meeting will reach several recommendations that will contribute to supporting security, stability and joint police work.
His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Deputy Minister of Interior in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia delivered a word in the inaugural session in which he conveyed the regards and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, and His Royal Highness Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Premier, and His Royal Highness Prince Naïf bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minster of Interior to the delegates, affirming their support to the decisions of the meeting.
He thanked His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President for generous hospitality and warm reception, and for his support to the works and decisions of the GCC.
He also thanked Lit. Colonel H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for good preparations so that the meeting will achieve its noble goals.
He praised the role assumed by Abdul Rahman Al Attieyah, former GCC secretary general, and welcomed Dr. Abdul Lateef bin Rashed Al Zayyani, current GCC secretary general wishing him success in his new job.
Bahraini Interior Minister Sheikh Rashed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa thanked their highnesses leader of GCC member states, their governments and people for supporting Bahrain during the last events.
“While we currently enjoy each other's support, more must be done to enhance security and stability in the region. We must modify the security agreement between the GCC countries for both bilateral and collective cooperation. One method that could be used to achieve this is the establishment of a regional centre of the Criminal Police in the GCC States”, affirmed Al Khalifa.
At the end of his speech, he extended appreciation to Lit. Colonel H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for hospitality and huge efforts to make this meeting a success.
