SAAED Society to Reduce Traffic Accidents revealed its plan to enhance its communication with the society, and announced that all categories of the society are still able to register themselves to participate in its activities which include paying visits to those injured in traffic accidents and cooperating with civil society organizations and clubs of foreign communities in the UAE, with the aim of enhancing traffic awareness and safety.
Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, director of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police and chairman of board of directors of the society affirmed importance of promoting interactive communication through the society’s website in the internet.
He pointed out that the society is working within a strategy that focuses on human, economic and social losses caused by traffic accidents. The society prepared integrated program and intensified its participation in various events organized in Abu Dhabi.
The society is interested in implementing initiatives that aim at producing positive driving methods, to provide safe and sustainable traffic environment, said Mohammed bin Sulayyiem, FIA Vice President for Sport.
He underscored the important role of various community segments to enhance the efforts being made by the Ministry of Interior, and that is through abiding by law to reduce percentage of traffic accidents.
Lit Colonel Jamal Al Ameri, chief of strategic planning at Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate has delivered an extensive presentation on the projects that have been implemented so far.
In addition to a page on the internet, the society has published several publications in Arabic and English such as the Traffic Federal Law book for 1995, Traffic booklet for kids, a book containing traffic offences and fines as well as printing of the society membership form and the society card.
One of the society’s future projects will be publishing of SAAED magazine which will be covering topics related with traffic safety.
