Poetry and music day at ADP GHQ 

 

ADP has surprised cultural circles with a splendid poetry and music evening in celebration of World Poetry Day. The event was organized by the Department pf Security Media at ADP GHQ, under the theme “Love of the country poems”. The famous poet Habib Al Ssaigh, organizers of the Millions Poet TV Programme and a number of colloquial poetry heroes from ADP participated in the event.

Major General Mohammad bin Al Awadhi Al Minhali, Director General of Human Resources, who was present during the event said “Honoring of poetry and poets is part of ADP to encourage creative persons in local community”. Mr. Sultan Al Amyami, Director of Poetry Academy and member of the Millions Poet Judges Committee, said “Poetry symbolizes the joint case between humanity.ADP initiative is humanitarian in its nature”. 

“Marking the World Poetry Day by ADP is a good opportunity to highlight and motivate poetic talents of ADP. It urges them to continue their efforts in poetry world in addition to cultural life support”, added Al Amyami.

Poetry and Music 

Mr. Abdullah Shaheen, Press Coordinator at the Secretariat General of the Office of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and presenter of the event welcomed the audience with beautiful words about poetry and sentiments linked with it.

The famous poet Al Ssaigh opened the evening with a poem titled “Our Sheikh Zayed” . He stated init the deeds and achievements of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan “mat his soul rest in peace”. The audience brought their hands several times in admiration of the poem.

A number of literary and intellectual issues about the importance of poetry in forming the sentiments of individuals and its effect on the general behavior were discussed by Al Ssaigh and Abdullah Shaheen. Then the discussion was ended by a poem from Al Ssaigh a companied by music played by Abdullah Shaheen.  

“Nabatti” (colloquial) momentum  

Poet Hamadan bin Surookh Al Darei, Director of radio Branch recited a Nabatti (Colloquial) style poem under the title “A Home Land Story”. He was followed by a number of poets adopting the same style of Nabatti poetry. Major Nasser Al Niyadi and Abdullah Al Jabri, then the media man and poet Khalid Al Dhanhani recited Nabatti poems.

Captain Mohammad bin Al Noah, Office Director to the Director general of Security and ports Affairs delivered a beautiful Nabatti poem

The female poet Ghabsha Saeed Rashid Al Manssouri from Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department delivered a poem under the title “Emirates Girls”

At the end of the event major general Al Minhali honored the poet Habib Al Ssaigh, Sultan Al Amyami, programme organizers and the participating poets.
