Some officials and experts consider illegal residents are a hazard which affects the country security, economic and social aspects. The Ministry of Health has warned against the health hazards of this category if they do not undergo medical check up, on one hand, and the Ministry of Labor has confirmed the increase in absconding reports, without stating their number, on the other hand.
They have appreciated "Sahim" Social Campaign organized by MoI, represented by the Department of Violators Follow up and Foreigners Affairs of the Office of the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Foreigners Affairs, under the slogan "Sahim" (Contribute). The Campaign is being implemented by the Department of Security Media at The Secretariat general of the Office of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Media Company, Civil Community Institutions and their members and authorities concerned with educating citizens and residents on the risks of the phenomenon. They have affirmed the importance of the Campaign in increasing awareness of combating the phenomenon of infiltrators and violators among the community, understanding the importance of their contribution and cooperation with the Ministry in facing the problem.
Dr. Amin Ameeri, Executive Director of Medical Practices and Licensing at the Ministry of Health, has warned against the risks and hazards of illegal residents because they do not carry out periodical medical examinations and pass the required conditions of residency. He describes them as "A Health Hazard Time Bomb", that may explode at any time. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah, Expert of Tropical Diseases at the Health Authority supported the Dr. Ameeri statement and said "When violators do not undergo medical examinations they represent a serious health hazard to the community. Necessary precautions shall be taken in this regard. The Federal Law regarding contagious diseases stipulates deportation of persons suffering from contagious diseases after medical examinations have proved their cases. This is a preventive action to maintain the health and safety of local individuals".
Dr. Ameeri said " If any illegal resident suffers from infectious disease such as AIDS, Tuberculosis or Smallpox and lives in a hidden place may assist in the widespread of the disease, through sexual intercourse, preparing food for others, domestic services and use of others tools".
"They represent a health nightmare for the Ministry of Health against the security premonition. He refers to their negative effects on community security and stability", added Dr. Ameeri.
He has urged individuals and agencies not to harbor or employ violators, in order to assist authorities in confronting them. The existence of illegal labor without necessary medical acre, not only endangers their own lives, but the lives of those with whom they work at homes, farms, factories and companies.
The Ministry pf Health Instructions to Government and Private Health Agencies prohibit any dealing with illegal residents and they shall cooperate in referring them to security authorities.
