MoI says ID card is a must for completing any transaction
Major General Nasser Al Minhali, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs said, "MoI will stipulate that holding of ID card is must for processing any services delivered by MoI, GHQs and General Directorates of Police all over the UAE. He urges urgent registration in the Population Register and ID card. People should make use of the remaining period for registration".
He affirmed the importance of the media campaign implemented by the Secretariat general of the Office of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, represented by the Department of Technical Affairs and Security Media, ti introduce the the new strategy of Emirates Indemnity Authority (EIDA), under the slogan "Your ID card is your way to prosperity". The new strategy would increase the rate of registration especially labour category.
MoI services include, All naturalization, residency and ports services such as issuance of passports for citizens, investors procedures, some services at the ports, licensing of vehicles and drivers, issuance of good conduct certificates, private security companies licences, tenders, firearms permits and employment procedures for selected="true" persons for posts.
Those who have not got their ID cards should apply for them in accordance with the federal law number (9) for 2006 and Cabinet Decision number (201/1) for 2007.
Population Register and ID card System is one of the most leading projects aiming at the increase of economic and social development rates in the country. It is a basic pillar for E-government. An accurate register will contribute to achievement of EIDA vision and mission in line with our Higher Leadership directives. It enable our country to establish its place on world map in terms of services delivered to the citizens and residents.
By virtue of the electronic link that EIDA seeks top achieve with different government and semi-government service sectors, the use of the ID card are expected to expand in the future to cover other areas, such as, labor work, health card, electronic purse, commercial applications, driving licence and passport.
Mr. Abdul Razaq Ahmed Rasheed, Director of Preventive Medicine in Sharjah has appreciated the directives of the Higher Leadership of establishing ID card Issuance Offices at the Departments of preventive Medicine, which will issue medical fitness certificates for all residents, at the country level. The issuance of ID cards through preventive medicine offices will help in providing any information required by any department about the medical condition of persons and the follow up of medically unfit individuals.
He has affirmed the importance of setting up a unified database in the country through the ID card project for all citizens and residents.
He hopes that during the next stage the data of this card will expand to cover medical data of each citizen and resident in the UAE. Thus all medical centers can be linked with the ID card system for accurate information for every member of the community.
These information will accompany the person through linking them electronically with the ID card, which will provide all medical and social information about the individual. They can be identified locally, regionally and globally. The ID card will contain all medical information of the person in every place in the world through global electronic link.
