Under the patronage of Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minster and Minster of Interior, works of the first meeting for training institutions have begun on Monday.

The conference is organized by the scientific committee for symposiums and conferences at the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with the Emirates Institute for Naturalization and Residency and the participation of specialists from a number of countries.

Major-General Staff Khalifa Harib Al Khaili, acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior affirmed that the ministry is encouraging creativity, excellence and working with partners, indicating that sustainable development requires broad participation and learning from other people's experience.
 
Al Khaili has inaugurated the conference and conveyed to participants the greetings of HH Deputy Prime Minister and  Minister of Interior, in presence of Major General Khamis bin Suwaif, Director General of Criminal Security, Major General Matar Salim Al Niyadi, director general of electronic services and communication at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations and a number of officers representing the Ministry of Interior and police headquarters in the country.

The conference reflects the country’s vision and trends toward ensuing the requirements of upgrading skills and potentials of its sons as well as preparing them to energetically and filmy enter into horizons of knowledge, said Al Khaili in the opening remarks.

The conference aims to find a joint vision among all partners, a vision that contributes to fulfilling the UAE’s vision and message in building human resources, he added.

 It gives room to partners and stakeholder to exchange expertise, views, and to agree on developing scientific and practical standards for the educational and training institutions in the country to further achieve the aspirations of our police leadership, he pointed out.

The Emirates Institute for Naturalization & Residency since starting its training activities in the beginning of 2010 has implemented 360 training courses with as many as 8473 employees having benefited from attending them, said director of Outlets and Airports, Brigadier Gharib Mohammed Darwish.

According to Colonel Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Hameedi, director of police offices training institute and head of the scientific committee for symposiums and conferences at the ministry of interior, 20 papers will be discussed at the conference presented by experts and specialists.

The first session on the first day, presided over by Major General Matar Salim Al Niyadi, director general of electronic services and communication has comprised five papers on ‘training philosophy’.

On the first paper, Dr. Suleiman Al Jassem director of Zayed University has addressed the future of university education and UAE job market requirements.

Dr. Tayyeb Al Kamali, director of Higher Colleges of Technology HCT, on the second paper, has tackled the role of higher colleges of technology in building skills. While the third paper which was presented by Rashid Al Kutbi, chairman of Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, has focused on the “policy of emiratization according to the UAE 2021 Vision”.

Dr. Hatim Fouad Ali, representative of UN GCC regional office has reviewed the “role of the UN in the support of building capabilities, on the fourth paper. Director of training department of Abu Dhabi Police, Colonel Thani Buti Al Shamesi has focused on the role of training institutions in achieving the goals of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
