Major General Humaid Mohammed Al Hudaidi, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police, stressed the importance of the initiative undertaken by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to adopt the traffic accidents planning project "Saeed" in the Emirate of Sharjah. Al Hudaidi stated that this project will enhance the traffic regulation mechanisms in the Emirate; adopt the best scientific applications in planning and the minor traffic accidents reconstitution system, and to achieve the public satisfaction by reducing response time and quick access to accidents sites, in addition to eradicating all negatives aspects related to accidents planning. The project services will cover all the Emirate of Sharjah areas, including the city of Sharjah, the central and eastern regions.

He pointed out to the importance of this value-added service through the redeployment of personnel related to traffic regulation and accidents planning. “Part of the patrols currently operating in the field will focus on security work and intensify their efforts to combat negative behaviors and curb any security and community phenomena and crimes in all their forms”, he added.

Sharjah Police Commander in Chief emphasized the importance of the project in addressing the problems caused by minor traffic accidents and their complex implications. He noted that there are approximately four hundred minor traffic accidents on a daily basis; planning and following them up requires significant time and effort, which constitutes a heavy burden on security and traffic patrols operating in this field.

For his part, Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Director of Traffic and Patrol Directorate, Chairman of the Saeed Company for Traffic Systems, said that the trust given by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to the company will encourage it to achieve the best levels of performance and accomplish its tasks in the Emirate of Sharjah. Such tasks include, alongside minor traffic accidents planning, awareness and traffic education, in order to contribute positively to achieve the aspirations and strategies of the Emirate, to promote traffic safety levels to the best international standards. They also include reducing traffic congestion resulting from traffic accidents, by providing rapid response; ending traffic accidents planning operations in the shortest time possible and managing accidents sites to prevent any negative effects on the traffic flow.

It also is an incentive to actively contribute and support the efforts of the Emirate to improve traffic systems and enhance planning and reconstitution of minor traffic accidents, already implemented successfully in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain.
