Under the patronage of Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Major General Staff Obeid Al Hiri Salim Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-General of Abu Dhabi Police has inaugurated here today the Security Response Conference of Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 organized by the Research and Security Studies Center (RSSC) at the Al Raha Beach Hotel in Abu Dhabi. 

Present at the opening ceremony were Major General Humaid Al Hadidi, commander General of Sharjah police, police commanders, senior police officers from the Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, a number of officials at the local departments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and several other official entities.

Al Kutbi conveyed the regards of Sheikh Saif to the audience and his wishes for success of the conference to reach resolutions that can support Abu Dhabi Police confront the potential future challenges.

He affirmed that the UAE community which includes over 200 different nationalities, managed to portray a unique picture for stability and peaceful coexistence over the years.
Abu Dhabi Police, for more than fifty years now, is shouldering the responsibility and burden of ensuring security and safety in our dear capital, and is always developing its performance and services to keep abreast with the growth of the community, he said.

The ambitious plans of the government of Abu Dhabi have pushed the wheel of development in a rapid pace, he added. Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 is one of these ambitions which would undoubtedly help Abu Dhabi witness a huge civilization shift in order to face the requirements of the expected development, he pointed out. 

Abu Dhabi Police pays a great attention to its clients who are deemed as partners in achieving security and safety, which indicates its concern about setting up clear future plans to keep up with potential challenges, he further added.

Engineer Amir Hussein Al Hammadi, from the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPS), presented a summary of Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 in which he highlighted the UPS vision for the generations to come, the roles the UPS is assuming such as the city development process management, supervision governance, focus on the studied sustainable growth process in addition to having Abu Dhabi Urban Vision and Abu Dhabi Economic Vision merged.

Security and stability have become decisive factors for defining any country’s capability to attract investment, and that perfect city planning is an important factor in reducing crimes considerably, said Khalid Mubarak Al Bu Saeedi in a word he delivered on behalf of the undersecretary of Economic Development Department in Abu Dhabi,
First Lit Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Hammadi, from the Center of Research and Security Studies of Abu Dhabi Police presented a presentation in which he tackled the historical dimensions and civilisational aspects of the emirate of Abu Dhabi. He indicated that Abu Dhabi played a major role and is still a source of modernization for the UAE in the surrounding region.

In the first working session, chaired by Major General Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, director of Human Resources General Department, Dubai Police, a paper titled “implementation of crisis management system to confront traffic challenges caused by development of integrated means of transportation”, has been presented by Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Youif, CEO of the Strategy and Corporate Governance, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai.

A paper titled “supporting the UAE future growth through providing safe, efficient, environmentally friendly nuclear energy” was co-presented by Fahad Ayedh Al Qahtani, Director of foreign affairs and communication and Ahmed A
