Huge fire guts two warehouses in Mussaffah
Civil Defence men and Rapid Reaction personnel's from Emergency and Public safety Department at Abu Dhabi Police, Air Wing, Armed Forces and local organizations reached the site of fire in a record time and started the rescue operation. The fire gutted two warehouses belonging to a company in Mussaffah Industrial Area. No casualties were reported due to the fire.
Lt. Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Director of Peripheral Areas at Abu Dhabi Police led coordination and follow-up operation soon as the information was received by Mussaffah Police Station. Civil Defence Vehicles accompanied by ambulances and rescue equipments, Air Wing, Rapid Reaction, Crisis management and Crime Scene Teams, Criminology and Investigation men rushed to the site of incident. Director of Peripheral Areas followed up fire control operations on the field. Fire teams were able to control fire and secure the adjacent establishments. All fire fighting operations were being monitored by Air Wing helicopters.
Abu Dhabi Police record response to this incident helped controlling of the fire. The professional handling of operations assisted in reducing the damage and losses resulting from the fire.
According to Sheikh Tahnoon the cause of fire was unknown. Criminology Laboratory expert recovered samples from the site for further examination. Size of losses had not been evaluated yet. He appreciated the efforts made by all parties in controlling the fire.
