Dubai appeal court praises Abu Dhabi Police seminar with judicial bodies
 
 

Head of Dubai Appeal Court, Eissa Shareef praised the seminar recently organized by Abu Dhabi Police in order to boost the efforts of achieving justice.

The seminar which concluded its works at the Forensic Evidence Department in collaboration with the Centre for Research and Security Studies, has discussed the subjects which contribute to achieving effective communication among the concerned bodies.

Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, director of Forensic Evidence Department affirmed that the seminar is a completion to several steps implemented by Abu Dhabi Police to create effective communication with the external partners, indicating that the gathering included judges, legal advisors, prosecutors, forensic medical examiners and forensic experts.

He said, “Abu Dhabi Police, and especially forensic evidence department is one of the main partners of the courts and prosecution in all criminal and civilian cases. Truth is achieved through forensic experts’ reports”.

For his part, director of experts section at the Judiciary Department, Hayel Mohammed Abdul Majeed affirmed the significance of the seminar because it presented a lot of visions and proposals and opened horizons for further discussions related with communication and eliminating obstacles which might hinder such communication.

The seminar included three lectures, in the first one Dr. Ibrahim Wasfi focused on the alcohol test and its relation with traffic accidents. He assured that for the results to be approved, it is important to follow the international methods in conducting tests, noting that Abu Dhabi Police Forensic Lab is accredited by British Services for ISO 17025.

Both 1st Lit. Omar Al Hadhrami and Lt. Mohammed Rizaiq Al Menhali, from chemical analysis section delivered a lecture on breath alcohol testing instruments. He indicated that police stations use such devices, which lessened pressure on the forensic lab.
