The works of the two-day conference “combating international terrorism and organized crime- common challenges” were concluded at Abu Dhabi intercontinental Hotel today with the participation of 12 countries including the states of the Gulf Cooperative Council GCC.
Sessions of the second day were attended by Major General Staff Khalifa Harib Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services, Major General Humaid Ali Al Hadidi, commander general of Sharjah police and a number of senior police officers.
The conference recommended the significance of developing international cooperation to combat terrorism and organized crime with its all forms and exchange information and expertise among the countries of the region and the countries of the world. It called for a clear vision to promote training and continuous education to strengthen professional and academic levels for the personnel working in counter terrorism and organized crime.
The attendees also recommended the need to intensify efforts and establish constructive cooperation to rehabilitate the behavior of the deviated persons and terrorists, and study the best scientific and practical methods to combat terrorism and organized crime.
Terrorism as a term must not be linked with a particular religion; terrorist acts should represent the individuals who have committed them, the recommendations, delivered by Major Nasser Mohammed Al Baker, underscored.
The participants were highly appreciative for the Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minster and Minster of Interior for sponsoring the conference and his continuous directives to promote the national security system and cooperation with sisterly and friendly countries.
They lauded the huge efforts exerted by the UAE Ministry of Interior and the great preparations to organize this global event, expressing their appreciation for the participating delegations and representatives of security institutions in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Interpol experts from Britain and India.
At the end of the conference, certificates and mementos have been handed over to the participants and the members of the organizing committees.
