Al Awqaf: reporting violators to authorities is not a vicious “slander”
Abu Dhabi Police Community Policing Department will distribute tomorrow after Friday prayer at a number of mosques in Abu Dhabi, Western region and Al Ain, more than 15 thousand awareness brochures. The brochures urge citizens and residents not to employ or harbor violators and infiltrators. This move is part of the Social Campaign “Sahim” organized by MoI, represented by the Department of Violators and Foreigners Follow up at the Office of The assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs. The Campaign is being implemented by the Department of Security Media at the Secretariat General of the Office of HH the Deputy Prime minister and minister of Interior. In collaboration with Abu Dhabi media Company, Civil Society Institutions and their members, and other agencies concerned with community awareness.
Sheikh Talib Al Shuhi, Director of Preaching at the Islamic Affairs and Awqaf General Authority, said “Reporting violators and infiltrators to authorities is not considered as a denouncement. We have a religious and national obligation which we have to carry out to maintain the country security and stability. We urge citizens and residents to cooperate with MoI and other relevant authorities. I believe that any indifference in this regard is against the country’s Higher Leadership orders. Therefore, all people of the country should obey these orders including not employing or harboring Residency Law violators”.
Abiding by laws will maintain security. Existence of violators means that there is a defect which needs to be rectified by joint efforts. We appreciate Sahim Campaign objectives which motivate individuals to report violators and inform them about the phenomenon and punishments awaiting those who employ or harbor illegal residents’, added Sheikh Al Shuhi.
He has urged citizens and residents to cooperate with MoI in its Campaign and to learn about methods of reporting violators.
The phenomenon of violators and infiltrators affects all members of the community due to its social risks. The fighting process against it starts from individuals who should not employ or harbor them, in addition to reporting any illegal resident to security authority”, added Al Shuhi.
MoI Campaign to combat the phenomenon shows that security authorities are vigilant and are keen to maintain the security and stability. All community members should respond positively to the campaign”, added al Shuhi.
