Abu Dhabi Police organizes a symposium on quad bikes tomorrow

Major General Al Nuaimi: Teenagers contests are unsafe

 

Abu Dhabi Police general Headquarters (ADP GHQ) will organize a symposium under the title "Quad bikes between legality of registration and risks of their use". The symposium will be organized by the Center of Research and Security Studies (CRSS) in the Criminal Evidence Department Conference Room. A number of specialists from UAE University, Traffic Police Department at ADP, Emirates Cars and Tourism Club and CRSS Staff.

According to Major General Nasser La Khreibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH the Deputy prime Minister and Minister of Interior, ADP GHQ in response to the directives of HH, within its strategic priorities and objectives, seeks to regularize the use of quad bikes in terms of technical specifications and legislations that regularize their use, places of diving them, their import and handling regulations, for the safety of road users.

Some countries use these quad bikes as an alternatives transport means, to reduce traffic congestions or to face high prices of fuel and cars. UAE witnessed the use of quad bikes as a limited means of transport, such as deliveries, express post services, newspapers distribution etc. He warns against the misuse of sports quad bikes by youth and teenagers without calculating the risks.

The symposium aims to highlight the risks of using these quad bikes and to review the safe technical specifications for their use and legislations for their ownership, import, rent and handling.
