Abu Dhabi Police honors winners in “schools without accidents” quiz contest
Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and Abu Dhabi Education Council celebrated the honoring ceremony for winners in the contest known as “schools without accidents”.
As part of the Abu Dhabi Police traffic initiatives, out of 42 schools which participated in the quiz contest, 12 schools won awards in various areas.
The celebration was attended by Dr. Mughir Al Khaili, director general of Abu Dhabi Education Council, Major General Mohammed Al Awadhi Al Menhali, director general of Abu Dhabi Police Operations and Brig Eng. Hussein Al Harithi, director of Traffic and Patrols.
The participants viewed a film about the different phases of the quiz contest, and also enjoyed traffic art shows comprised an operette and poems on traffic safety.
Major General Mohammed Al Awadhi Al Menhali affirmed importance of partnership between Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and Abu Dhabi Education Council, especially in aspects related with traffic awareness.
He noted that ensuring traffic safety to school children is among the important priorities of Abu Dhabi Police. Along with police, family, school and motorists are other three main elements in ensuring traffic safety, added Al Menhali.
At the end of the celebration, Dr Al Khaili, and Major General Al Menhali, and Brig Al Harithi honored the winners including students, school bus drivers and supervisors, and school guards.
Top schools were Ayesha Bint Abi Baker Secondary School, Al Irtiqaa School for Basic Education, Al Bateen Model School and Al Hidayah Kindergarten.
