ADP opens an specialized course in criminal investigations and DNA

 

Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hamadi, Director of Forensic Evidence Department of ADP Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs, has opened the Specialized Training Course in Criminal Investigations and DNA, organized by the Department of Forensic Evidence in collaboration with ADP Center for Security Research and Studies A number of officers, Judicial Department Officials, Law Professors, Strategy Experts and Police College Students were present during the ceremony. 

Al Hamdi said in his speech "ADP GHQ is keen to communicate with police partners and customers, to make use of global policing and security experiences in combating crime by use of advanced methods".

"The training course is intended to keep pace with scientific developments and modern technologies in order to promote police techniques in fighting crime. ADP Center for Security Research and Studies, as a scientific center has contributed to coordination of this course, which consists of five specialized lectures" , added Al Hamadi.

Then he has lauded the efforts of the Advisor Lecturer and Attorney General of Denver County in Colorado States of America, Michel Richard Morris, Experts Gregory La Burge, Director of Denver Police Laboratory and Moll Feirman Criminal Anthropology Specialist and their presence to deliver lectures. He has also thanked the audience in their capacity as important police partners and customer.

The Advisor Michel Richard delivered the first lecture, under the title "Modern Developments in Forensic Sciences and Law". He talked about the legal rules adopted by American courts to accept modern technology in forensic sciences. He reviewed the importance of the crime scene and the evidences available there to assist in crime detection. He mentioned examples of the cases he dealt with in Colorado State. He said "Forensic evidences are very important but you need to convince the court and jury panel of their importance. The process needs dedication and study in order to understand forensic evidences".

He then showed some video clips depicting some crime scenes. He presented a detailed explanation of work mechanism at the crime scene. He showed the recommendations of the US National Research Council, which calls for support and development of DNA system at the federal level.

The Expert Gregory La Burge, Director of Forensic Laboratory at Denver Police lauded ADP attention the pay to forensic evidence science and attempts to develop technical capabilities and use of modern techniques in crime detection.

He affirmed the main aspects of the course which pay attention to police actual partners i.e. judges, prosecutors, forensic physicians and crime fighting officers. He stressed the importance of achieving justice in its comprehensive concept by adopting best global standards.

Tariq Yaaqoob Al Khayatt, Head of Dubai Prosecution, appreciated ADP efforts in inviting specialists at the country level to participate and attend the course.
