ADP launches new service for special needs people reports at Operations Room
ADP GHQ launches a new service project to receive reports from persons with special needs through SMS. The new service will start tomorrow, Sunday.
Lt. Colonel Nasser Suleiman al Maskari, Head of ADP Central Operations Section and Director of the Project said “Coordination has been made with Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care, Special Needs and Minors Affairs, to prepare the system requirements, in cooperation with the Department of It and telecommunications and ADP Department of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing, in order to link the system with new service at (operations Room), for appropriate response when receiving reports and calls from persons with special needs and to communicate with their relatives”
“The project reflects our police leadership and its keenness to develop policing to keep pace with ADP GHQ strategy and urgent response to special needs people emergencies. The new service mechanism at (ADP Operations Room) is carried out through special programme to receive messages. The programme is linked with Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care, Special Needs and Minors Affairs database containing basic information about special needs people. When the report is received it is immediately classified, traffic accident or criminal incident”, added Al Maskari.
“When report is received concerned police authority is mobilized immediately, in addition to other support, such as ambulance or women police elements. Priority will be accorded to special needs people reports and advising their families with their situation. Persons with special needs are urged to interact with new service and report any incident, they should mention the type of incident and injuries and other relevant details”, added Al Maskari.
On the other hand, Captain Faris Salim Al Amri, Director of Visual Surveillance Section at the Department of Operations said “The new service will provide integrated services for persons with special needs and enhance communication with them in different circumstances, especially emergencies. The staff of the Operations Room is well prepared to receive calls and reports around the clock, coordinate with relevant units to move immediately to the scene of accident, identify other units for back-up, in a record time”
