ADP launches "5999" service for special needs people
ADP GHQ launched "5999" service to receive reports from persons with special needs through SMS linked with the Operations Room. The service was launched on Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Center for Rehabilitation of People with Special Needs, in coordination with Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian and Special Needs Foundation.
Colonel Mohammad Mayoof Ahmed Al Kitbi, Director of ADP Department of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing said “ADP always leads the way in communication with persons with special needs. The launch of SMS service for them is a new addition to several initiatives launched by ADP to serve this category".
"Through the number (5999) this category can easily communicate ADP by SMS to Operations Room. Then the Operations Room follows up the report for better services. The aim is to serve members of this category are reassure their families and relatives", added Al Kitbi.
Maryam Saif Al Qubaisi, Head of Special Needs People Sector at Zayed Foundation has lauded the effective cooperation between the Foundation and ADP, affirming that ADP initiative coincides with the country celebrations with World Children day.
"Children in the UAE are the center of the government care, especially those with special needs. They are part of the UAE community. Today we meet for a valuable purpose. It is a good opportunity to acquaint parents and guardians with the importance of this project", added Maryam.
She has expressed her deep thanks and graet appreciation to ADP GHQ for its care and continuous support to this category of the community, and iots keenness to collect all information related to the male and female students of Zayed Foundation, at Abu Dhabi Emirate level.
Al Maskari, Head of Central Operations at ADP and Project Director said "Coordination has been made with Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care, Special Needs and Minors Affairs, to prepare the system requirements, in cooperation with the Department of IT and telecommunications and ADP Department of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing, in order to link the system with the new service at the (Operations Room), for appropriate response when receiving reports and calls from persons with special needs and to communicate with their relatives”
“The service (5999) for receiving SMS reflects our police leadership and its keenness to develop policing so as to keep pace with ADP GHQ strategy and urgent response to special needs people emergencies", added Al Maskari.
"The new service mechanism at (ADP Operations Room) is carried out through special programme to receive messages. The programme is linked with Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care, Special Needs and Minors Affairs database containing basic information about special needs people. When the report is received it is immediately classified, traffic accident or criminal incident”, added Al Maskari.
Captain Ahmed Ghareeb Al Mansouri, Director of Community Awareness Branch said "The Community Police will play a great role in activation of the project of receiving SMS through emergency number (5999), to serve persons with special needs. The Community Police will carry out tours to Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care, Special Needs and Minors Affairs centers at Abu Dhabi Emirate level, with a view to educate them and acquaint them with importance of the project and the se
