Brigadier Dr. Saif Bou Dhfeera Al Ameri, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs in Abu Dhabi Police, received a membership certificate for the Teeth Print Team at Abu Dhabi Police to join the Australian Society of Forensic Odontology (AuSFO). Colonel Khamiss Misbah Al Marar, Director of Ports and Airports Security Department was present at the ceremony.
The event took place when Brigadier Al Ameri received in his office, Dr. Anthony Hill, President of the society who handed Al Ameri the certificate and the society shield in the presence of Captain Dr. Armanosa Fadel, Head of the Teeth Print Team.
Director General of Security and Ports Affairs praised the efforts of the team to obtain this membership despite being relatively new.
Brigadier Al Ameri explained that a plan was set for the team, locally and globally, to engage its members in training courses and many international seminars and conferences, in addition to practical training courses that will enable the team members to gain expertise and knowledge that will qualify them to work efficiently in a new forensic discipline in the world.
Director General of Security and Ports Affairs said: “UAE Police has its good reputation in international forums, especially through its numerous participations in international seminars and conferences, where it presents its efforts and prospects to become one of the world top police forces through excellent services.”

In the same context, Brigadier Dr. Saif Bou Dhfeera Al Ameri handed 6 Emirati dentists from the Ministry of Health, Dubai Health Authority, Seha and Abu Dhabi Police Medical Services Department, certificates for completing a course titled “Support for Teeth Print Team”, held at University of Sharjah and Forensic Medicine Office at Abu Dhabi Police. The ceremony took place in the presence of Dr. Suhail Al-Amad, Professor at University of Sharjah; Dr. Anthony Hill, President of the Australian Society of Forensic Odontology and lecturer at the course; and Dr. Saeed Shouqi, Consultant in Forensic Medicine at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, and Chief Forensic Doctor at Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and the Supervisor of the program.
The course aims on establishing a team of Emirati doctors at the UAE level in line with an ambitious project to set up partnership in the forensic medicine field and build up a scientific background about forensic medicine and teeth print, in order to achieve cooperation in future projects that the Forensic Medicine Team at Abu Dhabi Police aims to.
The Teeth Print Team members received certificates stating their completion of the ‘Disaster Victim Identification through Teeth Print’ course held in Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, Australia. The team included First Lieutenant Dr. Ahmad Suleiman and Lieutenant Dr. Abeer Al Matroushi.
For her part, Captain Dr. Armanosa Fadel, Head of the team said: “teeth print is unique to each person.
