A UAE delegation visits Interpol

 

 A UAE investigation and intelligence delegation visited the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in Lyon, France. The aim of the visit is to enhance performance of security agencies in fighting and preventing different types of crimes and criminal acts.

Colonel Ali Saeed Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Director of Initiative to Develop Coordination and Integration Mechanism with all CIDs in the Country, said "The visit is part of ADP keenness to update security agencies personnel on the latest and advanced techniques and practices in use in security field to keep pace with the most powerful security agency at the world level".

"We have identified objectives for the initiative to exchange expertise, facilitate operational procedures and exchange information to increase performance effectiveness in fighting crime and criminal phenomena at the country level in general, and at Abu Dhabi Emirate in Particular", Added Al Nuaimi.

The delegation, on arrival, was accompanied by the Acting Assistant Director of Interpol for the Middle East and North Africa to the Organization Headquarters. A lectures programme was prepared for the delegation to be fully acquainted with the Organization. The delegation learned about the tasks, duties and work mechanisms of the Organization.

The delegation also reviewed the training programmes that the Organization provide for its staff to confront different types of crimes, and methods of developing staff skills, which could be implemented in the UAE.

Then the delegation toured different departments, sections, branches and operations rooms, and exchanged expertise and work mechanisms with Interpol Officials. The visit continued for two days.

The delegation Head and Members lauded being given opportunity to visit Interpol Headquarters, the thing which would contribute to enhancement of security awareness and gaining new experiences and information which would assist them in making plans for the development of policing in the country.
