115 national women pave the way for Emirati girls to join police force
115 national women have chosen their future career with confidence and will by joining Abu Dhabi Police Women Training Section to proudly serve their country.
They were the 29th batch of graduates. They completed different military sciences requirements, prescribed training sessions to reflect the progress made by Emirati women in light of support given to them by the leadership of the country.
1st Lt. Shamma Al Miheiri, Head of Police Women Training Section said 'The graduates have gained high skills which will assist them in carrying out their work. Among the 115 who have enrolled for the 29th batch, 97 are new recruits, 18 are already working with the Ministry of Interior and ADP GHQ. The training course duration is 22 weeks. The first two weeks of training focus on physical fitness and exercises to prepare them for training field".
"The course programme is divided into periods. Each period is four weeks. During these periods they receive training in military sciences, policing and helping others. The last two weeks are trained for their graduation ceremony. Assignment of new graduates to ADP GHQ Departments after graduation depends on their skills and training they have received. Those who possess the skill of conversation and communication with others are assigned to Outlets and Airports Security Department", added Al Miheiri.
"Earlier trainees need to stay at the training school until their course is completed. This has been changed to a 7am to 3pm system, where they could go home after the training day. This has resulted in greater response, as some of them are married and mothers who have to meet other family needs. Also some of them study at universities and others completing their secondary education", she said.
Women who join women police force believe that military work suits them more than other fields of work. In military work they find patience and discipline. We believe that there are women centers and or women societies that women can join and practice their skills. But Emirati women today are characterized by high ambition and interest to serve their country and support the development that the country witnesses.
ADP GHQ has embarked on a mission to attract more Emirati women to police force and at the same time allows them to complete their academic studies. Thus the incentive for them to join police women training section will be greater.
