 “Ajman Authority” reviews ADP model of excellence

 

Lt. Colonel Mohammad Obeid Bu Ali, Deputy Director of Performance Evaluation Department has received recently at the Human Resource Conference Room a delegation from Ajman Free Zone Authority, Headed by Nadir Al Dusooqi, Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs.

The visit is within the framework of partnerships between ADP GHQ and Government Institutions, in order to exchange experiences and to enhance cooperation with different organizations to review ADP experience in the progress of excellence.

Lt. Colonel Mohammad Obeid has explained to them ADP interest in employees satisfaction. Employees’ satisfaction in 2007 registered a rate of 70.8% and in 2009 reached 80%. The mechanism of employees’ satisfaction evaluation is done through cooperation with the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies & Research, to ensure impartiality of results. After reviewing employees’ views and having the results approved by the Higher Leadership, remedial actions have been taken through workshops. We have learned the weaknesses and strengths in order to improve the results and employees satisfaction.  

Major Abdullah Salim Al Tamimi, Head of Training Evaluation Section has briefed the delegation members on the implementation of Kirk Patrick methodology to measure training effect since 2008. The aim is to measure the quantity of training received by trainees and its impact on them.

Al Tamimi has affirmed the importance of training impact measurement. It is the first initiative at Abu Dhabi Emirate level to be implemented by ADP GHQ. It is one of the initiatives which we will present for Abu Dhabi Excellence Award.

Major Mohammad Al Dhahri, Head of Budget Section at the Human Resources Planning Department has briefed them on the budget and how it is prepared. He has given an example of its implementation, through formation of team visits, allocation of tasks, discussion of requirements and approval steps of the budget by the authorities concerned.

Then 1st Lt. (Engineer) Nawaf Bakheet Al Nuaimi, Director of Strategic Planning Branch briefed them on the general structure of the Directorate General of Human Resources and the mechanisms in use for preparation of job descriptions in accordance with best global practices.

1st Lt. Mohammad Khalfan Al Zaabi, Director of NCOs and Personnel Affairs Branch, has briefed them on the stages of career training. He has affirmed the importance of the electronic career card which contains information about the employees which can be activated and updated to enhance employees’ careers to ensure the development of employment future.

Lt. Abdul Salam Abdullah bin Ishaq, Director of Civilians and daily Workers Branch at Employees Evaluation Section has explained to them the Electronic Performance Evaluation Programme which replaced the paper forms in 2004. Confidentiality in the evaluation system has been abolished and transparency has been adopted. The skills to be evaluated are: Communication and self-motivation, relationship with colleagues, dealing with customers, decisions taking and others.

Lt. Ahmed Al Marzouqi, Head of Training Planning Section, has briefed them on how ADP GHQ training plan is prepared, through the formation of training plan working party which is responsible for the plan development and analysis of requirements, publication of the plan through the web site of the Directorate General of Human Resources and distribution o
