The Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development organized a specialized workshop at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi, to discuss the strategic planning mechanism of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ. The workshop focused on the plans of the various police’s Directorates General, within the performance indicators’ reduction project.
Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior inaugurated the workshop. Al Nuaimi reviewed the steps and phases of the strategy since its launch in 2003, as well as the difficulties that were encountered.
Furthermore, the Secretary General stressed that the strategy represents the compass and the main catalyst to reach the coveted objectives. It has become the cornerstone for setting priorities, and serves as the supporting actor in all sectors of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
Moreover, Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Police Strategy and Performance Development gave a presentation about the Abu Dhabi Police Strategic Planning mechanism. He shed light on its inputs (Vision, mission, values, internal and external environmental survey), strategic outcomes (overall framework, priorities, objectives, initiatives, organizational performance measuring, key performance indicators) and strategic outcomes through performance management of available resources.
The Workshop tackled a number of topics, mainly strategic planning, performance management and achievement in the police force. It highlighted the strategic orientation, which indicates the extent of use of available resources, key performance indicators, operational goals, operational indicators and operational plans.
The workshop also shed the light on the vision of the Institutional Performance Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, the mechanism of adopting operational plans and quarterly performance review.
Captain Ali Sultan Al Nuaimi, Head of Institutional Performance Department and Captain Badr Nasser Al Nuaimi, Head of Strategy Performance Department participated in the workshop.
The workshop was attended by a number of directors general, deputy directors general, directors of police directorates, heads of departments; as well as senior officers and civilians from Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
