whole country will soon be completed
The Ministry of Interior has announced that unification of traffic database at the country level will soon be completed. The database will include all basic information. The step is in line with MoI strategy to make use of advanced technologies, to promote security services provided to the public, to save time and effort and to achieve public satisfaction.
This statement has been made by Colonel Anwar Al Mulla, Director of ADP Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications and Chairman of Traffic Systems Merging Committee. He said "WE have coordinated with Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in a joint project. Accordingly MoI has been provided with a similar version of their database. WE have worked on copying that data to the database of the Federal Traffic and Licensing System".
In the same context, Lt. Mohammad Darweesh Al Bluki, Director of Analysis and Development Branch and project Director said "It's four years since the work has started on the project. The Federal Traffic and Licensing System has been developed by ADP GHQ, and it has been implemented at all service centers at the country level, including service centers in Dubai, which is under RTA supervision".
"The merging of the database with the Emirate of Dubai is the last phase of the whole project. Thus MoI will have a unified database containing all information, i.e. traffic file, driving licences file, vehicles and traffic offences file, which will be available on the Federal Traffic and Licensing System (FTLS)", added Al Bluki.
In respect of services delivered by FTLS, said Al Bluki "The System provides distinguished electronic services for the public through all service centers in the country. Now transactions can be processed electronically without the need for paper work as the System is electronically linked to several parties, such insurance companies, technical inspection companies, in addition to traffic services, which can be delivered through different gates, like the internet, automatic payment machines and automatic answer on phone".
MoI has a clear strategy about what will happen during the next stage regarding the development of electronic services, which will streamline delivery of services, overcoming obstacles and delivering services to customers everywhere, without making customers seek our services.
