Three killed ,73 injured as visibility dips

Three people were killed and 73 others injured over the weekend as thick fog reduced visibility. Those killed included a Palestinian journalist and the other two dead were identified as an Indian and a Pakistani.

76 vehicles were involved in road accidents near samha and sihshuaib between Abu Dhabi and Dubai on Thursday night. 47 were injured in the sih shuhaib pile up while around 25 were also hurt in another mishap said Lt.Col.Gaith Al Zaabi ,acting Director General of the Traffic and licensing department.

According to him the accidents were mainly caused due to poor visibility and speed also was responsible for such accidents. He urged the motorists to follow the traffic instructions of the traffic police so as to avoid such incidents in the future.

He said that the police patrols,ambulanceses along with civil defence units were deployed during the foggy night

He urged the people not to crowed at the accident scenes and heavy vehicles are not allowed to ply on main roads on foggy nights.
