The Human Resources Department, represented by Training Department of Abu Dhabi Police, is currently implementing a professional diploma project at the Human Resources Department to rehabilitate Abu Dhabi Police officers in this area of expertise. This project is regarded as the first of its kind in the Gulf region and the Middle East, and is at its first phase.
Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police, stressed the police command’s keenness to qualify leading cadres to run and facilitate the administrative and productive process at the various Human Resources Departments’ sections, given that the human resources specialization is an important competence in the work field.
He added: “Human resources, in any Institution, require a development process and an efficient management as per clear and outstanding standards. At Abu Dhabi Police, we work on achieving our strategic priorities, especially the optimal use of human resources effectively and efficiently.”
For his part, Colonel Thani Butti Al Shamsi, Director of Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police, said: “The implementation of this project comes in line with the development efforts that Abu Dhabi Police is working to achieve, in order to qualify its human resources staff as per the requirements and standards of excellence. This process will enhance the staff’s expertise, to keep up with modernity and technology, work standards and basis, and strategic thinking based on understanding the vital role of Human Resources Department in accordance with the developed modern trends.”
The diploma targets Heads of departments, Heads of divisions and branch managers at the Human Resources General Department, and is held in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). The institute is regarded as one of the leading institutes, specialized with developing and honing the administrative skills of the human resources personnel. It also provides international standards of continuous professional development in the field of human resources.
