MoI organizes workshop on benchmarking
Benchmarking Center at the Strategy and Performance Development Department in the Ministry of Interior, held, recently a workshop on benchmarking dedicated to Departments Directors, Heads of strategic planning sections and branches as well as the quality teams and representatives.
The workshop was opened by Lt. Col Mubarak Saeed Al Ameri, Head of the Center. He explained that benchmarking is a process to measure and develop the performance of the Ministry of Interior by comparing its performance to the best international organizations, and learning the best applicable practices.
Al Ameri gave a presentation on the aspects of which benchmarking consists, some of which is to know the level of current performance, to define the aspects which need improvement, define the gap of performance between the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and the leading institutions. This is achieved through comparing the levels of performance; define the world’s best and leading institutions which can be followed as an example, and study how these institutions succeed in achieving the best performance.
The workshop shed light on the Benchmarking Center which was established as part of the Minister of Interior’s initiative in the current strategic plan for the period 2008-2012 to improve the total performance.
For his part, Essam Mahmoud Al Hammadi, strategic advisor at the Benchmarking Center, said: the Center aimed at providing the Ministry with the ability to carry out benchmarking with the best international practices, promoting the concept of benchmarking and establishing in international database containing the best international practices.
Captain Mohammed Nekhairah Al Mazrouie and 1st Lt. Talal Helal Al Ameri took part in the presentation of the workshop.
